Therapy that leads to breakthrough and new patterns.

In the elephant community, after a mother gives birth, she can entrust her calf into the care of other elephants, i.e., allomothers, while she leaves to forage and restore. At Allomothering Therapy, clients create a life they don’t want to escape by allowing themselves to have a foundation built on the balance of needs and wants, giving and receiving, ease and strength.

Services we offer

Individual Therapy

Many clients come to Allomothering seeking to overcome all-or-nothing extremes—fight-or-flight thinking and living on autopilot. They want to live their values, not just have them in mind. They want to stop seeing their options from a limited point of view and expand their sense of possibility, to be refreshed by the freedom of new choices they make in their relationships, work, and self-image.

Pattern-Breaking Group Therapy

Parent-(Adult) Child Therapy

In an online setting of no more than 10 participants, this group learns to break patterns that don’t serve them, specifically in areas that feel impossible to stop perpetuating. We start with psycho-education and skills-based lessons, then use role-play to demonstrate and reinforce real-life application. Each member receives a workbook and an accountability partner. This group meets in 6-8 week cycles.

Moments have happened between parent and child that still hurt, and they may be compromising the sense of trust, safety, and peace you want to feel. You want to stop repeating past behaviors in this relationship, yet don't know how. In Parent-Adult Child Therapy, we examine the patterns that are affecting your ability to move forward. We implement accountability, empathy, and protection within the communication. The past is used as leverage and not a detriment to a healthier relationship now.

Allomothering ethos

If you’re willing to go deep, we’ll go far.

To break a pattern means to break through who we thought we were. This can lead to breaking into new skin in more ways than one.

We crush foundations we no longer want to stand on, with the grace and strength of elephants.
